Nature Oriented Tour in Ararat, Vayots Dzor & Syunik Regions

1st day
• 8 AM departure from Yerevan to Ararat Region
• Khor Virab-church and imprisonment place of St. Gregory the Illuminator
• Magnificent view of Biblical Mt. Ararat
• Noravank Monastery (13th-14th cc) in spectacular red-rock canyon
• Lunch near Arpa River and rest in Vayots Dzor canyon
• Hiking to Tsakhats Kar Monastery (12th c) and Smbataberd (11th c) Ruined Fortress
• Karahunge "Stonehundge"-an ancient observatory, built some 6000 years ago
• Driving to Tatev Monastery. During 5-8th cc was one of the most famous educational centers in Medieval Armenia
• Satani Kamurdj (Devil bridge)- spectacular canyon, which was made by Vorotan River
• Hiking from Devil Bridge to Vorotan River Valley
• Accommodation and overnight in local B&B in a Village of Tatev
2nd day
• Breakfast in B&B and Driving to Kapan
• Hiking to Baghaberd Fortress
• Possible to continue driving to Meghri (2,5 hours), no hiking sites there…
• Second option is to get to Goris
• Driving to Bgheno-Noravank, open air picnic
• Hiking into caves and canyon of Khndzoresk Village
• Optional visit to Aksel Bakunts House Museum
• Overnight in B&B 'Khachik' in Goris
3rd day
• Breakfast at B&B and departure to Sisian
• Optional rent of Soviet Army Jeep (4x4) to get to Ukhtasar (4th Millennium BC Rock Carvings); Weather Dependent !!!
• Optional Tour in Jermuk; the Gallery of mineral waters, Spa
• Hike to Jermuk waterfall and Old Road near Arpa River Canyon
• Lunch in Jermuk
• Visit to Areni vine factory (tasting included)
• Museum & burial place of poet Paruyr Sevak (optional)
• Transfer to Yerevan
